SPECIAL SUMMER PRODUCTION~~
"Uncle Vanya" Or
“Scenes From A Country Life”, is Anton Chekhov's 1899 re-working of his earlier play The Wood Demon. The play
centers around the inhabitants of a rural estate and how they are effected by the visit of their idol, Professor Serebryakov
-- the man they have worked to support their whole lives-- and his beautiful new wife. The cast, working from a text adapted
by Mobile Shakespeare Company Founding Director Jim Faust, is made up of several JJP favorites: Katie Anderson, Mike Green,
Nancy Lenoir, Erin Lilley, Rick Miller, Joann Olivera, John Richards, and Bill Watts.Performances are one weekend only at the Joe
Jefferson Playhouse, 11 S. Carlen Street, June 26, 27, 28. Curtain time is 7:30pm on Friday and Saturday

UPCOMING AUDITIONS ~~~ The
Joe Jefferson Players will hold auditions for the Neil Simon / Burt Bacharach / Hal David musical “Promises, Promises”
at 7:00 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, June 29 and 30. Roles are available for 13 men and 13 women ages 20-60.
Auditionees should prepare to sing 8-16 measures of a song and bring music in the correct key – accompanist provided
– no recorded music please. Auditionees should be prepared to stay for about two hours to participate
in script readings and dance movement sessions. Rehearsals will be held Mondays – Thursdays, 7:00 p.m.
– 10:00 p.m. and Sundays 2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. beginning July 6. Performances are scheduled for
August 21, 22, 28, 29 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees August 23, 30 at 2:00 p.m. The production will be
directed by Tom Gray with musical direction by Paulette Clark and Alan Farmer and choreography by April Smith.
