Up Next at The JJP; THE RAINMAKER by N. Richard Nash and directed by Jeffrey Williamson. Performance dates are March 23, 24, 25 and March 30, 31 & April 1, 2012. Box Office opens March 19. "The Rainmaker" features these area actors: Rick Miller as H.C. Curry; Steven Castle as Noah Curry; Mathew Schmidt as Jim Curry; Cathy Bouler as Lizzie Curry; Jack Moon as File; Michael Pfleegor as Sheriff Thomas; and, John Shoulders as Bill Starbuck. Set in a drought-ridden rural town in the West in Depression era America, the play tells the story of a pivotal hot summer day in the life of spinsterish Lizzie Curry, on the verge of becoming a hopeless old maid. Her wit, intelligence and skills as a homemaker can't make up for the fact that she's just plain 'plain'! Even the town sheriff, File, for whom she harbors a secret yen, won't take a chance --- until a charming, confident trickster, named Starbuck arrives and promises to bring rain in exchange for $100. His arrival sets off a series of events which enable all the characters to rethink their priorities and for Lizzie to see herself in a new light and to find true love.
