Set in a drought-ridden rural town in the West in Depression era America, the play tells the
story of a pivotal hot summer day in the life of spinsterish Lizzie Curry, on the verge of becoming a hopeless old maid. Her
wit, intelligence and skills as a homemaker can't make up for the fact that she's just plain 'plain'! Even the town sheriff,
File, for whom she harbors a secret yen, won't take a chance --- until a charming, confident trickster, named Starbuck arrives
and promises to bring rain in exchange for $100. His arrival sets off a series of events which enable all the characters to
rethink their priorities and for Lizzie to see herself in a new light and to find true love.

To be announced "La Cage aux Folles" is a tuneful and touching
tale of one family’s struggle to stay together...stay fabulous...and above all else, stay true to themselves. Two gay
men have their lives turned upside down when the Georges' son, whom they have raised, announces he fell madly in love and
is getting married to Anne. Unfortunately, her politico father is head of the "Tradition, Family and Morality Party",
whose stated goal is to close the local drag clubs. After much argument and many complications, the two men try to conceal
their lifestyle and their ownership of the drag club downstairs when the fiancée and her parents come for dinner. Albin,
star of the drag show, masquerades as the "wife and mother," with predictable hilarious results. After a disastrous
dinner, revealed identities, and an invasion from the press, true love triumphs. "La Cage aux Folles" won Tony awards
for Best Musical for its original production (running for 1,716 performances) and for both of its Broadway revivals.
